Protecting the South Downs
The South Downs is a nationally important landscape, comprising two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Sussex Downs and East Hampshire). However, the pressures of modern life mean that if future generations are to enjoy the South Downs, we must work together to make sure that its special qualities and the essential character of the area are maintained and, where possible, enhanced.
Are you interested in conservation? Protecting the South Downs holds the latest information about the management of this special landscape.
