Jenny Lynch has joined Midhurst's northern area office of Sussex Downs Conservation Board(SDCB)as a ranger.

Jenny (29), who lives at West Dean, near Chichester, was previously employed on a temporary contract at SDCB's central area office in Stanmer Park, near Brighton.

Replacing Bruce Middleton, who has been promoted to Area Manager, Jenny will be responsible for the Rights of Way networks across 13 parishes and has already been involved in the management of the new Open Access infrastructure.

She will also be working with community groups, helping them to map habitats and will be steering valuable conservation projects together with local parish residents Jenny, who gained a BSc (Honours) in Environmental Biology, has a passion for conservation work and has experience of environmental education for school groups and setting up community groups to focus on habitat management and conservation grazing.

Says Jenny:” I have always appreciated woodland environments and the Northern area of SDCB boasts the most woodland in the whole of the Sussex Downs, so I am delighted to be working here Outside work, Jenny enjoys walking, painting, gardening and traditional crafts like weaving and basketry She says: “I'm looking forward to working with existing community groups and setting up new ones so we can make a concerted conservation effort in this area.
